The Hen and Chicken Inn is a charming and historic public house located on the busy A31 between Alton and Farnham.

The house was originally built in 1746 as a Chaise House where stage coaches on their way to London would rest whist horses were changed and passengers refreshed. The first known landlord was a gentleman called Mr Rawson who saw that inn become a popular gathering place for travellers and horse dealers. A picture can be found of him by the inglenook fireplace.

With much of the charm and character preserved, the house has since become a popular eatery for local guests and families and passers-by.

Laura & Kevin have been at the Hen & Chicken since November 2004. With their team, they thrive to provide the best service and food going.
