Hen & Chicken
WINNERS OF
‘BEST FOOD PUBLIC HOUSE 2017’
The Hen & Chicken Inn is a charming and historic Public House located on the busy A31 between Alton and Farnham.

The house was originally built in 1746 as a Chaise House where stagecoaches on their way to London would rest whilst horses were changed, and passengers refreshed. The first known Landlord was a gentleman called Mr. Rawson who saw that the inn became a popular gathering place for travelers and horse dealers. A picture can be found of him by the inglenook fireplace.

With much of the charm and character preserved, the house has since become a popular eatery for local guests and families and passers-by.

Laura & Kevin have been publicans at the Hen and Chicken since November 2004. They love welcoming customers into the pub and treating them as family. We are dog friendly, so please do bring them along to see us.
